Hay all you rpers

Post by Ragmaan on Tue Aug 25, 2009 1:38 am

(this is a sales pitch inspired by adult swim ^^)

You think you're good? You think you are the best? Well tough luck honey, cause you haven't tried Adventure Quest (brought to you by Ragmaan). All you sissy gamers marveled and cried at the site of mere mortal rps before. Well this is a whole nother level. It ain't for no weaklings, see?

With new ingenious systems, the illusion of control, and new loot and experiences, you'll come to hate it as much as we do! You'll go on a different quest each time, with a very customized experience but heres the catch: the more you redo, the more you are penalized. You want to do this? Well do it right. This is only for the manliest of men and the womanliest of women!

Using the elusive dice rolling system compounded with the stat system, this will clearly be a new rp to fear and hate! You'll start to loathe each post you make in it...yet you will continue to show you ARE the better man. But even if you hate the systems... you'll love the thrill of fighting monsters outside of your challenge rating and the possibility of getting ahead of your allies just for being darn awesome.

Wait, theres more! If you are so epic, you can get a special trait that puts you above the rest within reasonable limits! And there are also penalties for all those lamoid kids who act the same whether they are a dark necromancer or a drow elf angst-ing to throw off it's race's shackles and become good... JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER ONES. So hay all you rpers. You think you are good enough for it? This ain't no ordinary rp. This is only for the cream of the crop. So do you think you can handle it?

(any insults taken seriously bodes negatively for readers)

Alan "Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure.

Also...No spamming, you two.

Also also...

Class: (a short synopsis such as what it is and what its called: candymancer: summons candy weapons and creates sugary confectioneries to help his allies fight , specializing in support and misdirection)
Lifepoints:(if a caster, roll 3d4, a "rogue" or "ranger" class (druids too), roll 3d6, a paladin or clericish class, roll 3d8 and if a barbarian esque class 3d10)
Manapoints: (if a caster, roll 3d8, a rogue has 30 energy points automatically, a rangerish class rolls 3d4, a druid or paladin or cleric rolls 3d6, whereas a barbarian has a meter that increases with every turn of battle until a barbarian rage is released (or the equivelent for your character class) (until 100% efficiency)
Str: (more strength means more ability to lift objects and deal more melee damage: based on frailty of character from mage to barbarian, roll respectively in respect to lifepoints dice rolls)
Dex: (more skill in handling weapons, increasing the chances of getting a lucky hit and doing extra damage)(roll based on the str ratings except swap barbarian with the "dps" classes)
Int: (affects the rate of mana regeneration for classes with a mana pool and for the classes without increases chance of not missing with a weapon) (roll based on the mana pool rolls except the mana poolless ones roll based roll based on the rate of a ranger class)
Wisdom: (affects ability to search for solutions and to think of solutions to problems and increases potency of spells for casters -- roll based on int rolls)
Charisma: (ability to relate to npcs and has a slight bearing on appearance: everyone rolls 3d6 except for barbaric characters who roll on a 3d4 scale.)

This part needs spaces to make it easier to read. It kinda bugged me a lil'"

I know there are those of you ignoring this. Ha! I laugh at you! You think your current rps are tame? THIS IS EXTREME! In a world without laws, chaos is to the EXTREME. Well not really, but that's what i'm talking about. Oh sure, your characters are really cool. The ones that were made with the freedom of will. But everyone knows that the most extreme people can only be made out of the most limiting conditions: there is nothing more challenging and AWESOME then to make an amazing character that is god like when its even more challenging: thats why there is hard mode, and you LOVE to try hard mode. Cuz easy mode got BORING, thats why.

Still, you think there isn't enough customization? Ha! I gave you tons of customization! You get to determine your class, skills, race, and race traits (if applicable!) Of course, there are the norms, but thats extra! You aren't limited here to one or two skills, no.

And wait, theres STILL more to come. You haven't even learned about the item system yet, or the weapon system.

So you think you are tough? That you are good, that you can rp? Well prove it sissy girls.

(no offense meant to anyone who took offense from this).

oh thats fine Surprised
but this is to encourage those that don't, in a sales pitch all too similar to the alluring ones adult swim does for their (mainly) fun games on the site Razz

Think you are a good writer? Come and prove it. Think your current rping is "good?" Come and prove it. This is where the men are revealed from the boys, where the common characters are gone with the dust. This is where those that have creativity and vision are revealed.

Think your copy of a comic book character was "cool". Tough luck sherlock, this is where only the most amazing people are revealed. We aren't having no typical blood sucking vampire people here, or dragon ball super saiyans. This is where the men come alive!

Come forth and vision! Let me see the sumo wrestlers, the naga dancers, the half elf pickle wielders! Let me see the real creatures residing in your minds.

Stop being lil children. You think you are creative? Prove it in a realm where only the creative and clever survive. Prove you are willing to take a burden to make yourself excellent. Prove that you ARE the best.

And take home the treasure that you have been working towards. Not only the rank of most extreme, but that you can actually prove it now.

it depends on your general character build.

3d4 means (as far as i know, and in my context of knowledge)

you roll a four sided die 3 times and add up all the results to a total.

so depending on what classification you are, you roll approximentaly.

so i'll know if you fudged it, or did it wrong. theres only so much potentional within dice regulatoins.

max you could have for 3d4 is 12. so if you had 13, i'd be like raaaaaaaaa
