Re: Hay all you rpers
I'm not agreeing to anything. But, out of interest... what would I theoretically have to prepare for?
Majeh[NU]- Senior
Re: Hay all you rpers
you already agreed. by posting spam.
but anyway, what do you mean by "prepare?"
you just make your character and more will be revealed as everyone finishes their characters.
such as the attacking systems and w/e
although i guess you should prepare to hate stat based rp's after this...

Re: Hay all you rpers
you did ^^, which is the sad part about how simple it is these days
The terms of the contract was this:
1. in exchange for commitment, you gain in return the service of amusement and joy from the rp, as mentioned within the constraints of the rp.
2. Those that make irrelevant comments with the intent of nonsense are bound to this: the exchange being their time being mismanaged to now being managed.
You spammed, thus fulfilling the second condition and thus the first.
Therefore, I can take you to the court of small claims and waste your time as I choose, and thereby gain compensation for the commitment which you are clearly denying, while fully knowing the legal properties beforehand.
Failure to take things seriously is not a measure of escape in the legal system.
So yes, you are bound to this and if you choose to fight it I can take you to the court of small claims, which is sueing for monetary values or equal re-compensations.
And I could require you do it anyway. You are trapped filly!

He has some sort of a legal point here... It's vague, but it makes sense.
If a promise has been relied upon by the person to whom the promise was made, then that promise is legally binding.
If you had made a promise and not been given anything for it then it would not have been legally binding.
So I think what Rags is trying to say is "You gain amusement and joy from the rp" and therefore following rule 2, should be legally binding...
But, seeing as Ami hasn't actually received any of that amusement and joy from the RP yet, seeing as right now it isn't in existance... erm, sorry Rags, Ami is free to go ^^
What can I say, other than "grab a napkin, you just got served!"
And Russell, be quiet lol

Re: Hay all you rpers
wrong.
close, but no cigar.
it does not quantify time, but rather that it will be given: it doesn't mention within restrictions of when, nor does it imply immediately.
this is why its a contract, as opposed to a trade or bargain.
contracts are agreements that have the consent of the two people, as given by me and ami upon her spamming, with the intent that for a service given, a service will be returned.
as she hasn't served her service yet, it matters even less that she hasn't gotten any enjoyment yet.
and if you'll note, she tried to avoid these charges... WITH AMUSEMENT, I MIGHT NOTE.
therefore it is still binding and you fail, even though you tried so hard :O

Re: Hay all you rpers
Lol no actually.
You fail =D
See you just don't understand. I never mentioned time at all. What I mentioned was that in order for it to be legally binding Ami would have had to receive something which she didn't. Just annoyance from you, which is not why one would join an Rp and therefore not what was promised. And no, what is wrote is about contracts. Not trades or bargains ^^
What I wrote is sufficient to win me this case ^^
I won
Stop arguing.

Re: Hay all you rpers
its ok that you don't understand the legal system.
but its quite shallow to pretend you do.
you did mention time. yet is time.
do you need to understand what a contract is before you will continue?
because more hot air is not going to help you understand this, making strawman arguments.

Re: Hay all you rpers
Actually, you are the one who doesn't understand. I read this straight from my uni book and used it for my argument. So yea, don't try to argue, you are immediately wrong if you try.

Re: Hay all you rpers
its ok that you are wrong. but you don't have to lie.
i've also studied law, and the one thing that stuck was contracts.
i know everything within my realms of knowledge.
you might want to do some more research.
i will conclude with any other statements that you make are STILL not valid.

Re: Hay all you rpers
Rotfl what contract
I didn't sign shnit or agree to anything
a legally-binding contract has not been entered into until something has been signed by both parties in writing
lol wow
Big time fail.
Way to go majeh!

Re: Hay all you rpers
incorrect.
you don't have to sign. there are vocal agreements
the point is that there IS an agreement
and my condition for this of your agreement was that unrelated posts are designated as a commitment
when someone spammed, they effectively said i want to join.
the condition for agreeing to join was set up with prior knowledge already there
