IRPA 3 Universe and References Guide Empty IRPA 3 Universe and References Guide

Alan "Since some people are new to IRPA, I figured I might as well make a little guide and such to help them through some of the tough spots and help them know about things in the universe. Also, since I'll never remember all the references and such when the RPs over, I figured I'd just update them as it goes along."

{Universe}
The RP takes place 2 months after the war the war against Zoda. Zoda (who is the main villain in StarTropics) was an alien invader who tried to take over the planet a year ago before he was defeated by Alan in August 2008. January 2009 later, he returned with a hatred for humans with his new goal to destroy the Earth. This was when the ArchFiends and Heroes united and fought in the war "Zoda's Revenge".

The ArchFiends are a gathering of supervillains whose main goal is to take over the city and eventually the world. The Heroes fight to stop them from making The City their grand base of operations, their greatest foe being Alan. Despite really having evil intents, they are actually nice and hospitable to the public, even opening their Fortress to people who want to hang around. Their current line up is Villain, Ranamon, and KoS now that MM left.

The Heroes are heroes from all over who fight together and keep each other informed about the world. They used to be a large group, but now they're all disbanded to fight in their own regions. The remaining 2 are Alan and Alucard. Despite fighting the ArchFiends, they are known to secretly get along quite well even though they tend to fight for their lives against each other.

Despite being enemies, the Heroes and ArchFiends are known to get along quite well, spending holidays together and doing casual things with them during ceasefires, team ups, or when the ArchFiends aren't planning anything dastardly.

1 Money in The City is a cent. That means $20 equals 2,000 Money

One of Beat's options in the beginning was to "Do the Bartman", a dance from the Simpsons.

The Rito Quill from Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker delivered Mia a letter.

The dragon Belial that the Teen summoned to fight Paymon is from Odin Sphere.

When Beat gets to Alucard's House, Alan is excited because he just bought Wolfenstein for the 360 (which I did get a while before posting the post).

Whenever someone gets hurt or dies, they say a random German phrase like in Wolfenstein 3D.

The movie MM and Beat went to see was "Bang Shishigami Ninpo, Ninja Scrolls Gaiden: The revenge of Tao."

When Mia tricks the guy into shooting himself, he drops a Sandvich from Team Fortress 2.

The Owner of the Occult Store is described to look like the Black Mage from Final Fantasy.

The Sands of Time from Prince of Persia are available for buy at the Occult Store.

"NO WAY!" being the quote of the day is a reference to Fat Mann Judgeth's Sonic 3D Blast review.

The Translation Patch is an item from my Universe. The term "Translation Patch" I got was from people making patches so foreign language games would have English text.

"Teach Me, Miss Litchi!" that was about to play as a marathon on TV for Karasu is from BlazBlue.

Channel 42 is having a debate special on the meaning of life, a nod to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The hole Mia approached was meant to be described as the hole Alice falls into in the trailer for Alice in Wonderland. Strangely, she arrives in the Mushroom Kingdom from Super Mario instead of Wonderland.

When the rules were being announced at the summoning tournament Paymon was taking place in, Carl Clover from BlazBlue left because Nirvana (his marionette) wasn't a summon.

Paymon got a stay at the Inn for free by singing "Walk Like an Egyptian", which happened in one of the former IRPAs by someone from the same group as him.

The thing in the Warehouse attracts Goral due to his metal armor. The Russian officer who says she came for the artifact in the Warehouse he's currently stuck to makes this a bad reference to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Yes, I know.

Alan "From now on, most updates will be the same message edited so I'm not quinsetuple posting."

The dream Paymon has when he gets blown up and crashes into the ground is a dream I had a while ago. Difference was I continued playing and got rescued in the end.

When Beat sings onstage, the kids from Digimon Frontier show up. DF is my nick name for the series.

Paymon wakes up in the Kaka clan's village "Lost Town" from BlazBlue when he wakes up from his dream. He fights Arakune and sees Litchi Faye Ling (Miss Litchi).

The Museum's building exhibits are from the trilogy "Uninvited", "Shadowgate", and "Deja Vu".

The World War II Weaponry exhibit has weapons from Wolfenstein.

The drink Remelia gives Goral "Leninade" is an actual soft drink. "Get hammered and sickled!" or something like that.

The message talking about how Goral is supposed to win after beating the dragon is a parody of the text at the end of the first chapter in Doom where you die and go to Hell in the end even though you beat the 2 boss monsters.

Alan's ship "The Vic Viper" is the ship from Konami game Gradius

Alan "Okay I lied. Bump Update!

The references used in how Beat got back to Jackuval's Base are from songs Paint it Black, The Beatles: Rock Band, and Yellow Submarine.

Alan is humming the Lupin the 3rd theme when Goral gives him the Walther P.38 because Lupin the 3rd's signature gun is a Walther P.38.

Paymon has the choice of getting to the Mall's Security Room by going throug the Air Ducts, which is what you do in Dead Rising.

Alan "Hm..."

The part where Renn appears in a Wax Works with zombie, monster plant, and Jack the Ripper exhibits after getting out of the pyramid is a reference to PC game Wax Works.

Alan "This game."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waxworks_(computer_game)

The deaths in this game look painful (Warning: Pretty gruesome stuff. MM's favorite death scene is the zombie mauling one since she like's looking at torn apart people, the sick psycho)

[youtube]

The golden urn having a mind controlling snake in it is a part of what happens in the current story I'm writing where Alan and MM are playing a virtual reality game (Dungeon Adventurers. Sound familiar?)
