It was a lonely day, Ryan hadn't seen much of anyone, he traveled and traveled but found no one. He never really did have a person to hang out with, he grew up alone and taught himself and with the help of his master, Wu Shu, but those days were over. As he was travelling, he found a large mansion, it was old, but it seemed new in a strange way. He decided people were inside and he could stay for the night, he usually slept outside, but he had felt different since last time. The mansion seemed it was full of people from the lights, He guessed it was an illusion, but he was curious.

Standing still in the dark, suddenly a beam of light raises up.

Stranger "Hey! Who's down here! Come on, man, there's f***ing monsters running around, show your goddamn face!"

Suddenly the light shines onto a large creature, it's body completely torn, covered in violent slash marks, and horribly mutilated. The creature has two cages chained to it's arms which have no hands on them. The creature walks towards the man, making the dragging sound Robert heard earlier.

Stranger "Oh shit! SHIT! NO! DIE, DAMN MONSTER!"

The unseen man suddenly generates a flash: He has a gun! The bullets do nothing to affect the monster, and one of the cages raises into the air and comes crashing down on the man, completely destroying his body as what's left of his torso falls into pieces on the floor into a bloody mess. The light shines in Robert's face and the creature turns to him. It has no eyes. It drags the cages along, and it hits the gun while walking to the right, which makes the gun skid across the ground next to Robert. The gun has a mounted light on it. That must be where the light was heading from. Robert is unsure if the monster saw or heard him.


What do you do about the gun?

[Grab it and do nothing]
[Grab it and shoot the monster]
[Grab it and turn the light off]

After deciding on what to do with the gun, what do you do?

[Do nothing]
[Fight the monster]
[Try to get around it]
[Shine the light on the monster]

Standing almost perfectly still after turning the light off, Robert doesn't move. Unable to see the monster, it sounds like it leaves the basement, the dragging sound eventually fading as it gets further and further away. Now Robert remains in the dark basement alone...

Turning the light back on, the empty basement has only the bloody remains of the fellow who previously owned the gun. Hope you don't end up like him...

Searching what's left of him, Robert finds 3 bullets and 7 matches in a match book.

[Take items]
[Leave them]

There are 2 ways to go: To the right where the monster went and straight ahead to a few concrete steps and a door. Both have bloody trails going towards them.

[Go forward]
[Go right]
[Don't go anywhere]

Taking the bullets and examining the gun he got, he has 8 bullets total: 5 in the clip, 3 in hand

[Reload gun]
[Don't reload gun]

The matches have a bit of blood on them, but the label says "Waterproof", meaning they should still light.

Going right, Robert sees a hallway that is rather plain but well lit even though there are no lights or lit candles around. There's a set of stairs straight ahead, 2 door on the left and 2 doors on the right.

[Go up the steps]
[Go to the first door on the left]
[Go to the second door on the left]
[Go to the first door on the right]
[Go to the second door on the right]
[Go back to the basement]
[Do nothing]

As Robert opens the door, a woman enters the room, her back facing to him, as she walks to the middle of the hall. She is dressed like a Southern Belle with a white umbrella to go with her white clothes. Facing the stairs, Robert still hasn't seen her face, she speaks out: "Oh my love. We can be together forever..."

[Talk to her]
[Don't talk to her]
[Go through the door as originally planned]
[Shoot her with the gun]
[Attack her with the knife]
[Go to another door]
[Try to go past her]

Robert quietly goes through the door and enters the next room. It looks like a game room with a chessboard table, a old gramophone, a pool table, a cabinet, and a large grandfather clock in the middle of the room. There are 2 doors: One in front of Robert and one to the right. The gramophone looks like it still works and there is a record ready to play, the chessboard table is completely set, and the pool table looks like it was played recently.

Robert examines the chessboard table, and up close it looks incredibly elegant. The table is made with very finely polished oak, and the white and black spots are made with stained glass. The pieces themselves are also interesting, wooden pieces that are very amazingly designed. The crowns on both the kings are made of solid gold with a single diamond each one. The White King isn't facing forward, it's jewel pointing to the right.

[Move one piece like you're actually playing]
[Throw the table to the ground]
[Leave it and look at something else]

Robert turns the White King into the right direction. As he does, strangely it feels like there's a force guiding his hand, turning it in the exact position so it's diamond is perfectly aligned with the Black King's diamond. The grandfather clock starts to chime, showing it's 11:00 PM.

(the kings are supposed to face the others queen, and the queens are supposed be on the space opposite of there own color, but I play with the ancient rules, in them the younger person gos first.)

...The King's diamonds are going across the board diagonally. They aren't parallel. Using the right format of Kings face Queens, but the diamonds are still facing each other.

(My original excuse was that they set up incorrectly, but I scrapped that)

Robert moves the Chess piece. After moving the piece, suddenly the gramophone plays loudly. It plays a very loud anthem. Looking at the record, it's entitled "Horst Wessel Lied". It's very deafening.

[Examine the Gramophone/Turn it off]
[Move the Chess piece back]
[Move a Chess piece on the other side]
[Attack the gramophone]
[Attack the Chessboard table]
[Run to the door in front of you]
[Run to the door to your right]
[Run to the door behind you]

As Robert ignores the blaring music and proceeds to move a piece on the other side, suddenly Robert automatically moves back to the White side and moves yet another piece, then goes back to Black and moves another piece. It feels like he's actually playing against himself. After a while, the game finally ends: The Black Queen, a Black Bishop, and a Black Rook have cornered the White King in Checkmate. Suddenly the music stops and the room is completely silent. According to the clock, the game went on for 5 minutes, pretty fast.

[Set up the pieces and play again]
[Set them up and leave them alone]
[Leave the set as it is]
[Throw the table down]
[Attack the table]
[Take the Chess Pieces]
[Get away from the table]

After the table is done with, what do you do?
[Examine the pool table]
[Examine the cabinet]
[Examine the gramophone]
[Go to the door straight ahead (Unknown)]
[Go to the door on the Right (Unknown)]
[Go to the door behind you (Hall)]
